Kathy McIntosh founded Capital Learners after spending nearly a decade as a classroom educator and private tutor.

While being employed full time as a Montgomery County school educator, Kathy saw the ever-growing need for enrichment and remedial tutoring. Capitalizing on this need, Kathy quickly built a thriving tutoring business and decided to found Capital Learners Educational Services in 2015. Kathy continues to cultivate an elite network of private tutors while overseeing the hiring and training process of each new tutor.

Kathy’s energetic and nurturing personality is perfectly suited for working extensively with children. She thrives on her daily interactions with students and the ability to make a difference in people’s lives.

Kathy earned her M.S. in Education from Johns Hopkins University, with specializations in Reading and English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction.
